How Are Morals and Religions Connected?

In class my group had to talk and think about 1 question and 1 statement. We then had to make a blogpost talking about 1 of either. I had chosen to talk about how morals and religions are connected. Morals are basically the main building blocks of religion since they teach us how to be a good person, much like religion does. For example, Buddhism teaches us to be kind to those around us and to not be greedy in life. Hinduism explains to us that the kinder we are in life, the better our reincarnation will be.

iPad 1st Impressions

In I.T, we were experimenting with the iPads, as if we were 'quality control testers', we played with them and there was some good stuff, but there are some downsides as well. Here are some of the things we tested them on.

1. Internet Access - as you know, the iPad can connect to the internet, its how fast it works. Now I check PowerSchool often, to see in my grades improve or go down, I was so glad when I saw that there was a Powerschool app, and it worked really well. The internet connection, when I used it, was awesome and I couldn't see any problems with it at all. I could log in straight away, no lag or errors at all

2. Consistency - the consistency of the internet is how long a computer can have a good signal, and with the iPad, the consistency was really good. As far as I know, it held a good internet connection almost all the time, it was pretty good internet, then again, I haven't used it much for the class, since all the field trips and this blogpost.

3. Tips and Tricks - now I haven't used the iPad much, and I have basically only 10% experience with them. All I know is that you can rotate the iPad to make it horizontal or vertical to your pleasing. Another things I know is that no matter what you do in GarageBand it will almost always sound catchy

4. Apps - right now, there are a lot of apps for learning like math, science and spelling. I bet that there are a billion apps with educational purposes, and that with the right apps, can be used any where, like a astronomy app for science, it will surely make the class more fun

5. One problem I see is that there is no App store, I mean, I'm not going to buy or download any at all, but I would like to browse through to see if there are any useful apps for class, other than that and the fact there isnt my preferred internet browser (Google Chrome), I can't find any more problems.

ePublication Examples

One example of what we're going to put on our ePublication is fake adverbs, like Cactus Buddy®!

Another thing we are probably going to put up on our blog are Fake Horoscopes!

One other thing my group is going to put on our site are fake dinosaur names

As you can see, we kind of only have fake stuff, but we'll probably add more stuff like How To's
and News, probably.

ePublication

Today in ePublication we needed to conduct research on ePublication. Basically, ePublication means books, magazines etc. on the internet and are interactive. Different audiences require different types of ePublication, for example relaxing music while you read your ebook is for people who need to unwind and a tutorial video with some text about ho.w to fix a computer are for tech newbies who need help with their computers or interactive children's books are for babies and small children.

Communication in middle school is slowly progressing. We go onto use Moodle to check our homework and we go onto chat to ask people questions about the homework.

The again some people are forgetful and don't check. Then they forget to do their homework. But if we build the moodle onto the school website, the people are bound to come up with it sooner or later if they like reading on the internet.

Multitasking Review

I would say, on a rate of 1 to 10, my multitasking effectiveness would be a 5. When I'm doing an assignment on the internet and i go and check my mail, I still would have been able to finish the project, but it depends whether I'm interested in it or not. If it's boring then I tend to wander off, but if it's fun than I would finish it in a few minutes. I would wander off to YouTube when the project is boring and listen to songs when I suddenly realize that I have to finish the project, but usually I finish it right away.

My distraction levels (like I said before) would be a 5 out of 10. If the project is boring I tend to search up stuff on Google, check my email or go on YouTube. But eventually I would finish it so my distraction levels are pretty much in the middle.

Strategies that I often use to prevent me from multitasking is to mentally tell myself to STOP MULTITASKING AND FINISH YOUR WORK and that usually helps a lot. But when that fails, I just close all my windows and try to concentrate and if that doesn't work, then I mentally tell myself to stop and so on.

My parents think that I spend to much time on the computer, and I only usually stop when they say so. Even when I'm doing my homework, my parents say that I take a long time to finish (probably because I multitask). Usually my parents put this lock on the computer (when a period of time where you don't shake the mouse, the login screen appears and I don't know the password) to stop me from going on again when I get off.

iPod Touch Apps

I am mostly interested in apps that entertain me. Like the 'Fun Box'. It's like a little box that has hundreds of buttons which make different sounds, like a 'BINGO!' and a 'HA HA HA!' button. Since I don't have an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, I haven't played it before but I presume that it is very good. I would like to have it because it's fun to listen to monkey sounds and 'BOOOO's after school.

Second is 'Pocket God'. You get a bunch of little villagers which you can name and you basically try in as many ways as possible to kill them. Like I said, I don't have an iPod Touch, but a friend of mine highly recommends it to me and I've played it ONCE before. You can flick the little people into the volcano, turn them into zombies, feed them to sharks, get their limbs pulled off by monkeys and a lot more! I would like this app because it's funny when you see your little villagers burn up and die and regenerate them to burn them again.

My last is 'Facts!!!'. It's basically a book of useless facts like, 'Red Wood bark has fire resistance' or ' the only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is uncopyrightable'. I've seen pictures of it and I would have wanted to buy it. If I had an iPod Touch i would've gotten this because it's fun to look at useless and dumb facts and say them to your friends to make them think your smart and I learn something new.

Doodle Community
My idea for an app is something called doodle community. You can raise a little village of little doodle circles, help them hunt for food, build little communities and help them thrive.
Or you can clog their arteries with too much fatty foods, give them sticks of dynamite as candles, squish them with your finger and generally ruin everything for them. You can even sacrifice your fellow tribes members. Any way you decide to treat your village, I think it's going to be fun! I think it should have been $1.99. This app is mostly for people under the age of 20. I think that it's not very useful in our daily lives but is just for entertainment purposes.

Stop-motion

In Plugged In, my group and I had to make another stop-motion, so sit back and watch the amazing chair race of '59 (feedback in the comments)

What I really liked about this stopmotion was that the music was really cool, and the idea was awesome too, people zooming around on wheelie chairs around the school and it was fun doing it as well. My group and I were really worried that Frame-By-Frame would shut down so maybe we should have used something else like a regular camera (but my teammates insist that we use frame-by-frame). Like I said before, frame-by-frame was very prone to crashing so we had to bear through that. I would have tried not to look at the camera and we could have improve quality and we could have put some effects in it, other than that, the stopmotion was pretty good
